As a member of the Claims Team, you will lead and coordinate the claims testing of our novel cosmetic ingredients and finished products to demonstrate at the highest industry standards that they are both safe and efficacious. You will work with our regulatory, safety, formulation, and brands teams to coordinate claims support to enable new product and ingredient releases. You will utilize both external and internal testing resources and will coordinate with ingredient and product leaders to ensure Debut is quick, effective, and always has the best ingredients and products for our customers.

Essential Functions

• Lead and coordinate the claims testing of our novel cosmetic ingredients and finished products to ensure they are both safe and efficacious.
• Coordinate product testing as necessary for both safety and claims substantiation.
• Work with our brands team to test and verify product claims in a rapid & effective manner.
• Coordinate ingredient testing for substantiation of both claims (clinical studies) and safety (in vitro and clinical studies).
• Work with our internal and external brands on any studies required for product release.
• Relay results to the required parties to aid in product development and marketability.

Education and Experience

• BS degree, M.S., or a PhD, in a clinical science, bioinstrumentation, clinical research, or biological sciences.
• 3+ Years experience in clinical characterization of formulated skincare products (experience with clinical characterization of ingredients is beneficial).
• Experience in the cosmetic or beauty industry.
• Must have high standards of technical writing and communication (e.g., oral presentations and written reports).
• Must communicate effectively with peers, external departments, and management.
• Must manage multiple projects with general guidance from supervisor.
• Must have a deep understanding of clinical lab practices and skin science.
• Must have ability to apply standard scientific principles and make sound scientific judgments.
• Must have experience in clinical testing of formulated finished products.
• Experience with safety studies (in vitro & human clinical testing) and knowledge of sensory testing is beneficial.
