Understanding Job States
You play a crucial role in connecting talented individuals with great job opportunities. To help you navigate the job board more effectively and understand the different job states, we have prepared this resource for you. Rest assured that we value your referrals and always aim to treat them with consideration.
Job tags
New Jobs :
When a job is newly posted on the job board, it will be tagged as "new." We highly recommend actively referring candidates for these jobs as they haven't received many referrals yet. By referring early, there is a greater chance that your candidate will be screened and interviewed first.
Closing Soon Jobs :
If a job has a "closing soon" tag, it means that the application deadline is approaching, and it will soon be removed from the platform. You can still refer candidates for these roles, but please keep in mind that many referrals may have already been submitted. Once a job closes, it disappears from the job board and you would not be able to view it, so try and make your referrals as soon as possible.
Referred:
For every job where you have referred a candidate, you will notice a "referred" tag on the right side. This tag serves as a quick visual indicator to let you know which jobs you have already referred candidates for. The "referred" tag helps you keep track of the jobs where you have potential candidates, making it easier to manage your referrals and stay organized.
Untagged Jobs:
Some jobs may not have any specific tags. These jobs are neither new nor closing soon but are still actively seeking candidates. Please continue to refer to these roles as they are still open and accepting applications.
Job-status
Open Jobs:
All jobs displayed on the job board are active and open for referrals. However, please note that a job can also be paused or closed.
Paused jobs:
Sometimes, a job may be paused before its deadline for various reasons. Paused jobs would no longer be visible on the job board.
Here are some common reasons why a job might be paused:
The company is impressed with the candidates they have received and wants to take their time to interview and select the best fit.
The company feels a mismatch between their needs and the candidates received, so they want to change the job description to attract more suitable candidates.
The company's needs have evolved, and they want to make adjustments to the job description to better align with their current requirements.
The company has undergone changes, so they do not currently need to fill that particular role.
When a job is paused, it means that the hiring process is temporarily on hold. The company may resume the hiring process later or make necessary updates to the job description.
Regardless of the reason for pausing a job, we will inform all candidates who have already been shortlisted about the status of the role and what they can expect. It's important to note that a paused job has the potential to become open again, and you will see it listed on the job board if that happens.
If a paused job becomes open again, your referred candidates will be reviewed as part of the selection process. However, if the job is not reopened but instead closed after being paused, the candidates who have already been shortlisted and are in the interviewing stage will be notified accordingly. Unfortunately, the referred candidates who have not yet been reviewed for the role will be unable to proceed further and will be rejected for that specific position.
Closed Jobs:
A job can be closed when the application deadline passes, when the company finds a candidate before the deadline, or if the company decides that they no longer need someone for the role.
If the job is closed no more referrals would be accepted for the role. We would review the referred candidates. Those who are shortlisted will have the opportunity to be interviewed if they are accepted by the company.
However, if the job is closed because the company has hired someone, the referred candidates will no longer be reviewed for that particular role. In this case, all the candidates who have already been shortlisted and are in the interviewing stage will be informed about the job status.
Other things to note about a job
The number of Interviewing Candidates:
When you click on a job and view the job details, you'll see the number of people interviewing for the role on the right side, above the non-negotiables.
If you notice that no one is interviewing yet or few people are interviewing, we encourage you to actively refer candidates. This situation suggests that there may not be enough qualified candidates who have been submitted for the role to progress to the interview stage.
By referring suitable candidates, you can help ensure that the job receives a stronger pool of applicants and increases the chances of the interview process moving forward.
We hope this resource helps you better understand the different job states on our platform. Remember, your referrals are valuable, and we appreciate your efforts in matching talented individuals with the right opportunities.
