Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Sr. Director of Partnerships with a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry and SaaS business models. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating complex political landscapes, making quick, strategic decisions, and cultivating relationships that protect and benefit our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for engaging with various types of partners including Consulting, Financing, Data, Channel Sales, Educational/Credibility, Technology, Industry Trade, Supplier Engagement, Renewable Energy Developers, and Asset/Owner Operator Partners.
  • Actively engage with major industry players like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Arbor, and organizations like UNFCCC and Greenbiz.
  • Assess partnership opportunities swiftly, determining their potential value and the strategic approach for engagement.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that interactions are handled with maturity, tact, and strategic insight.
  • Construct partnership agreements that are advantageous and protective of Ren’s interests, while also fostering scalable growth.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of global market trends and competitor strategies. Utilize this knowledge to adapt and evolve Ren Energy’s strategic approach.
  • Bring a deep understanding of the industry and a clear map of key players and potential partners.
  • Utilize an existing network within the renewable energy sector to identify and pursue valuable partnership opportunities.
  • Navigate complex and potentially adversarial situations with a combination of firmness and adherence to Ren’s values and culture.
  • Lead with a calm demeanor under pressure, exemplifying resilience and strategic foresight in high-stakes negotiations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in partnership roles within the renewable energy sector or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing partnerships in a startup environment, with a focus on scaling and expansion. Must have an existing network within the renewable energy industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful partnership strategies in a SaaS or technology-driven business.
  • Strong political acumen, able to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics without compromising company values.
  • Proven ability to make rapid decisions that balance potential value and resource investment.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with a track record of securing beneficial agreements.
  • Familiarity with the legal and financial aspects of partnership agreements in the renewable energy sector.
