Better Ventures is excited to share a unique opportunity to join our team and make a positive impact in the world. Since 2011, we have partnered with 61 mission-driven companies across three funds, and we will be investing in another 30 companies from our recently launched fourth fund.

As we grow our portfolio, we have added the role of Head of Platform as an integral team member to increase our capacity to deliver significant value to our portfolio companies while ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of our business.

Reporting directly to the Partners, the Head of Platform will be responsible for:

• Managing and fulfilling portfolio company support requests including introductions to follow-on investors, customers, and third-party resources
• Partnering with our founders to help them identify, screen, and recruit diverse mission-aligned candidates for a variety of technical and non-technical positions
• Organizing founder events to foster peer collaboration, networking, and learning
• Collaborating with our companies to implement DEI/inclusive culture best practices
• Identifying and deploying technology solutions and other external resources to add value to our portfolio companies and improve our internal operational efficiency
• Amplifying the work of Better Ventures and our portfolio companies via social media, our bi-monthly newsletter, and other PR/brand/marketing initiatives
• Tracking internal deal metrics including investment statistics, financial results, and impact measurement and updating our quarterly/annual portfolio and impact reports
• Managing the Better Ventures website, Medium page and our Mission Driven podcast
• Planning and executing other events including our annual LP Meeting

The ideal candidate will be someone with prior experience in recruiting, operations, venture capital, accelerator programs, and/or entrepreneurship who thrives in an unstructured entrepreneurial environment. This position is full-time and based in the vibrant Uptown neighborhood of Oakland, CA.
